Is Coast Professional legitimate?
According to various consumer forums, complaints lodged against Coast Professional deal primarily with overly aggressive collectors who believe that because they are only attempting to collect on student loan debt, that the FDCPA doesn’t apply to them. Among other things, consumers from several different states allege that Coast Professional repeatedly called them at work despite being notified that such calls were not permitted, engaged in abusive conversations and attempted to collect debts from people who do not owe them. Be prepared to document any communications you have with them and be very careful before issuing any money to them.
